Pétanque, a great team game
Ball games have been around since time immemorial, but pétanque as a precision sport was invented in the south of France at the beginning of the 20th century. It is related to boules and boccia, but is played from a standing position with closed feet ("pieds tanqués"). The rules are very simple: two teams take it in turns to throw a certain number of balls as close as possible to a previously thrown target ball. In Oberaargau, you can play pétanque with your team of 10 or more people (indoor 12 people, outdoor up to 100 people).
Your pétanque event could run like this
Start the sociable event with lunch and then walk 10 minutes to the pétanque club in Herzogenbuchsee or meet on site. Play for around 1.5 hours and refresh yourself during the game or afterwards with drinks from the club restaurant. You can round off the evening in the restaurant hall or in the attractive banquet rooms of the Kreuz Herzogenbuchsee, with great evening entertainment from the fields of music, satire, comedy, magic or spoken word if you wish. The modern and historic boutique hotel also offers comfortable overnight accommodation. Let us put together a tailor-made event for you.
