An eventful day in the Valais
Have you heard of the Suonen? Or wondered what is actually depicted on the new Swiss hundred note? On this guided day hike you will get to know the old Valais water conduit system up close. At the end of the eventful day, you will visit the only suonen museum in Switzerland and round off the day with an aperitif with regional specialities.
Hike along the Suone
The hike begins in a Valais valley at the Lac de Tseuzier reservoir and then leads along the centuries-old Suone towards the Rhone Valley. The hiking trail is well developed, but now and then surefootedness and a head for heights are required. The views are often spectacular, sometimes you pass through tunnels, and the path always descends gently. Depending on the condition and needs of your group, you may be able to cover some of the descent (around 400 metres in altitude) by bus. However, your guide will also be happy to lead you on foot to the day's destination.
