Hike with goats through the Emmental. Without a cell phone, but with open senses for nature and its beauty.

Deceleration and relaxation

Your excursion into nature begins in Burgdorf, at the gateway to the beautiful Emmental valley. At the start of the walk with the goats, you hand over your cell phone so that you can concentrate fully on your animal companions, your surroundings and yourself. The goats set the pace. Deceleration instead of time pressure is the order of the day. It's not about performance, not about a goal, but about relaxation and enjoyment.

On picturesque paths

On this leisurely hike in the area around Burgdorf and Affoltern i. E., you will discover beautiful walking trails and reach vantage points that offer views as far as the Jura or the Alps. Depending on the route, the hikes take between 1.5 and 2.5 hours (including a break).

Your companions, the goats

The goats, or "Geissen" as they are called in Swiss German, carry your luggage and accompany you on the hike through the Emmental. They are stubborn, lovable and run free. The six animals belong to Pro-Specie-Rara breeds, old domestic animal breeds that are considered particularly robust and healthy. Goats are among the oldest domestic animals and are still kept in many places in the Emmental, often for milk production: goat cheese is more popular today than ever.
