Floating works of art made of cardboard

Lightweight, easy to process and recyclable - cardboard is known to be a very versatile material. But would you have thought that even a floating boat could be built from it? Your teams are proving it. In groups of five to seven, you will create pretty little boats including paddles from cardboard, plastic foil and adhesive tape. While the material is tackled with knives and scissors, you will soon create handsome works of art which, if carefully planned and executed, will even survive a race.

Setting sail

Now the water test is imminent. Does the object you have constructed float, and does it still carry its crew? Equipped with life jackets and wetsuits, two team members each take up the challenge. The brave ones dare to race against the other two teams, the water-shy ones cheer the competition from the shore.
