Visiting the cheesemaker
Welcome to the traditional cheese dairy in the beautiful Emmental. Cows graze all around the farm, and the cheese world is still in order here in other ways as well: The milk that is processed into the original Emmentaler AOP, Mutschli and butter at this farm is supplied by 13 farmers from the region. The cheesemaker himself explains to you how the milk is heated to 30° to 32° and mixed with special bacterial cultures. These bacteria later ensure the cheese ripening and are also responsible for the legendary holes in Emmentaler.
Apéro and local products
After the tour of the farm, you can ask the cheesemaker questions about his profession and the production of Emmentaler over an aperitif with cheese specialties and a drink. You will also have the opportunity to purchase local products. If you wish, you can even enjoy a fine fondue on site.
Place and arrival
The cheese dairy is located somewhat remotely in the countryside, in the most beautiful idyll, but not easily accessible by public transport. For your visit you will have to travel by bus or private vehicles.
